Phones with non removable battery

This question is probably a bit random.... But my phone has crashed a couple of times to the point where I've had to remove the battery. Mostly while messing around with custom roms.

But what now? What if your phone crashes to that point and it is a sealed unit?

A bit random, I know, but it's bothering me :D
 
you mean like an Iphone?

in that phones case you reset by holding in both buttons.

more of an issue though, what if it gets wet, with a normal phone you remove the battery as fast as possible and put in rice, but with an iphone, then what?
 
I was think more about the HTC One series and I think the Moto RAZR....

But yeah, what if you drop it in water...
 
My Motorola Defy hard-reboots when I hold volume up+down and press power, so no need to rip out the battery :)

I seriously doubt the S2, S3, One X, Sensation, Nexus etc. will operate even if removed immediately from water. Even if they do, those gorgeous displays will never be the same.
 
I dropped my Desire into a pool once. Rather stupid of me. It sank to the bottom and I retrieved it amidst some very foul language. Took everything apart, dried it with a hair dryer, left it overnight and have never had any problems at all... If I'd not been able to get the battery out, I think it would have been a different story though.

Bottom line, you shouldn't be worrying about a removable battery because of water damage. Just don't get your phone wet, right.

never never use a hair dryer again, you were lucky
 
i've read many stories on the web of people saving their iphones by dumping it in rice over a couple of days.

whether this translates to the hox remains to be seen. hopefully i won't be the first to have to test the theory.

The rice will absorb some of the moisture.

Well if its a Motorola, you just wipe it and use as normal.

All Motorola's phones parts get chemically treated to resist water damage so you dont even have to cover the holes. Defy(Youtube link) RAZR (Youtube Link)

+1 I love my defy and Razr, water protection is the only reason I brought these phones, besides using the phone when showering, sudden thunderstorms while riding home on my CBR600 isnt a concern either.

This was after being fed up with my HTC and Sony Ericsson dying from water damage
