Hi Guys

I use Ulead Video Sudio for creating slide show dvd's of my kids that I send to family around the world. Add titles and audio in the background.

I recently tested out a trial version of ACDsee Pro and found that its slideshow pans and zoom the photograph as it plays the slide show (on pc only - cannot burn to dvd). Ulead cannot do this.

Can you recommend any similar software that I can use to create the photo slideshows.

Please note that I am specifically looking for the pan and zoom feature while the photo is playing. Ulead give me the option to make transitions fade in /out, etc ....

You might want to check if there is a PC version of fotomagico

It must be able to output a DVD that can be played on a standard dvd player.

Sorry... FastStone can't do the zoom feature in the Slideshow... only in Full Screen Mode. But it can make custom slide shows.

What about Windows Movie Maker or DVD Flick?

I am going to download a couple of trials of packages that have the Ken Burns effect. I SIMPLY LOVE THIS EFFECT.

Just a pity that the software is so damn expensive ... so I have to choose carefully.

Ken Burns Effect is a cinematographic technique that many film makers use to add
documentary-style touches to their works. It involves zooming and panning motions over still images, adding dynamic impact to an otherwise static presentation. It is simplistic, yet the results are elegant, making it very appropriate in picture slideshow presentations.

Hi

Have look at PicturesToExe and also Proshow Gold or Proshow Producer. Both can burn to DVD, even to YouTube

ProShow Gold is great. There is also Pro Show Producer a more advanced version of the program, with many more effects and keyframing.
The Demo version is fully working BTW.

FotoMagico for the Mac is very nice but does not have the features of
ProShow Gold.

Also tried to do this on FCP with Industrial Revolution's FxFactory Ken Burns Plugin but together with keyframing, titling and transitions, it becomes
a very tedious process. PS Gold does the same in seconds, you can render the project as a full HD QuickTime file or AVI and import into FCP, AE or another NLE
for final touch-ups.

Thanks Peter for the feedback .... much appreciated.

Mem-on-tv is a great piece of software to ... I taught my 6 year old son to use it and it is fantastically simple ...

I will make my choice once I have downloaded and tried PS Gold ....

Update:

I used Proshow GOLD and memoriesontv .

If you have hundreds of photos to put on a slide - go for memoriesontv software - works a charm.

If you have special photos - Proshow gold is good , Producer is better - you have more control - but the downside is that it takes more time.
