Photography courses

I'm thinking of maybe taking a photography course - partly to learn a bit more, partly to get out and meet people.

But... what do they actually teach in a photography course?

(And does anyone know of any good evening/weekend ones in Cape Town?)

What sort of thing are you interested in CathJ? If you are just looking for information/crit/assignments and so on there are a variety of Online Sources (some specifically SAfrican with quite a few CT people) that could be of quite a bit of use.

If you are in the cape town area, I might suggest popping into a photography shop called Orms (just down the road from Vigelleti - the ferrari shop) (also orms.co.za) - they are a hub of photo info. They have a board up inside the shop with various photo things .. maybe even a club or two. At worst, ask one of the guys there. I've seen them handle people from utter photo-newbies right up to professional photographers. I am sure they can point you in the right direction.
