Adobe has finally brought us the suite of Photoshop apps to Android including Photoshop touch : http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-touch.html

The new Adobe® Photoshop® Touch app lets you quickly combine images, apply professional effects, share the results with friends and family through social networking sites like Facebook, and more — all from the convenience of your tablet.¹ Initially available for Android™

Its a tad pricy if you ask me but I guess for some it might be worth a look. If you wanna buy hop on over to https://market.android.com/details?id=air.com.adobe.pstouch Personally I find Sketchbook Pro decent and cheap enough for my use.

Other applications in the list for Android is:
  • Adobe Ideas : Design virtually anywhere using vectors, layers, and color themes.
  • Adobe Proto : Create interactive wireframes and prototypes of websites and mobile apps.
  • Adobe Collage : Capture ideas and concepts by combining images, drawings, and text into conceptual moodboards.
  • Adobe Kuler® : Create, explore, download, and share color themes that can inspire any design project.
  • Adobe Debut : Present Creative Suite designs anywhere with confidence, convenience, and complete control.

Oh and Apple eat your heart out.

Elimentals, many thanks for this news. What I've been praying for. This is exactly what I need on my SGT 10.1 (and what has been missing to date). Bought it and installed it just now.

Bwana will be happy to know that an iOS version is also on the way.

Fine you lot made me do it ;)

Its not like R80 will make me poor, besides its a great adition to my DSLR Controller and Canon 450D for on the go photo's.

Hows R80 a tad pricey for a mobile version of Photoshop?
Photoshop is a tad pricey at a good few grand, i would of expected something of this quality to be well over $10, maybe add a 0 to that.

Well take it like this:

Android market has no quality control, only has a 15 min window to get a refund and the product in question has no reviews out, means that you could just chuck the money in a dustbin.

If I compare it to Sketchpad Pro that I linked, they charge more than the norm, never mind the fact that Adobe charge less for equal software found on iOS like Apple Adobe Ideas @ $5.99 vs Android Adobe Ideas @ $9.99.

BUT

At the end of they day I was mentioning the worth, not as in quality but as in quantity, I do not see myself using this a lot so I was wondering if the price was worth the time I would spend using it and it might be the same question some readers ask themselves while reading it.

Personally I would have loved to see a 3 for $19.00 deal, so I could get Kuler, Touch and Ideas as a package deal.

True, but in retrospect R80 is still not a lot of money, even if your throwing it away. Well that's my opinion at least. As for reviews, how can you expect a brand new product to have reviews, its after all brand new.
Fine adobe should probably release a trial version of the product too. As for pricing differences that's because of the differences between the markets, personally i do not know what apple charges, but android takes 30% off the top.

I noticed yesterday that with apple whatsapp costs $1, with android/nokia/blackberry its free for the first year, now i do not know if you would need to pay the same $2 annual fee with apple though, you will see with many products made for both apple and android price differences between the markets, part because of the markets costs as well as the vast differences between development methods and costs involved in developing for the different platforms.

It will be interesting to try it but I don't see myself moving away from FilterStorm any time soon.

That R80 pricetag is worth it. Compare this to the PC software business model where such applications cost thousands of R. I will gladly pay for quality apps that enrich my life. Photoshop is quality.

Adobe's strategy is for these touch line of products to be extentions of the desktop versions (using Creative Cloud layers etc are retained and can be edited). I see this as a big plus.

I dont think you can class Adobe Touch in the same group as Filterstorm. Yes they have similar functionality but they different applications in my view.

And yes I wish they would bring it to Android.
