I'm considering having garments custom made. Can anyone recommend a reputable tailor in Phuket - Thailand?

Thanks!

rofl.

recommending a tailor in phuket is like recommending a samoosa at the oriental plaza.

They're all fine, I bought a few things from different tailors, all good quality, and good workmanship.

Oh, and look for the tailor around Bangla (spelling) road in Patong, he claims he made suits for Jeremy Mannsfield , lol.

" You know my friend Jeremy Mannsfield? Big Man, I make suit!"

As you know there are tons in Phuket - i would say SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT :)

Yeah, I figured that much... but it would be appreciated if someone who actually had an experience with a good quality tailor one could steer me in a direction. I don't want to spend a great deal of time going scouting for a tailor :(

Dont worry,. you will not be scouting them! they will be scouting you! ahahhaa

i went to a tailor on the corner of Bangla Road and the beach road (not sure of street name)... had 2 suits made (jackets, pants, shirts, ties, waistcoats)... cost me R1500 in total.

I didnt keep their name or details (was taken there) but one thing that I will say is that you must negotiate with them. To cut a long story short, the more they realised that they were losing my business and I was going to walk out without a sale, the more that the price came down!

What is the turn-around time? As I'll be there for only 4 days!

first day - chose the designs i wanted, took the measurements, chose the fabric
2nd day - first fitting
3rd day - picked up the final goods

there may be an extra day required in between somewhere, but should definitely not take more than 4 days

Ask for advice at a hotel where you stay. They will recommend some of the best to keep you happy!
