Nope - Stayed at Amari Coral Beach, and it was the best hotel ever! Look at TripAdvisor for reviews of hotels in the area.

I stayed at Patong Beach Hotel... just across the road from the beach and around the corner from Bangla Road... rooms are clean and neat... nice big swimming pool... def worth a look.
