Little while ago my adsl line went down for a few hours
I just left the router plugged in and it came back online sometime during the night

I needed to do some port forwarding so I loaded up the routers “homepage” only to read this

DSL Speed
384 Kbps Upstream,
640 Kbps Downstream

that’s odd last time that was reading 2048 down, 512 up.

Now I know that the routers numbers do not reflect the actual account type/speed you use, and the new numbers cover a 512 account

But reading about the “high-quality television broadcasting across the Internet” that they want to introduce….. makes it interesting

Anyone else notice a change?

It is old news.

Telkom is lowering the line speed at all the exchanges countrywide and also changing the ADSL error correction so that people that live far from the exchange can sync easier.

The downside of this is increased latency which has upset the online gamers who use ADSL.

Shame...

That blows all attempts to pool devices / have multiple logins unless you have physically seperate lines (for anyone out there trying to do this)
