Hi all, so I am now "mining" with my phone. I got this app, it says it will not affect battery life or device performance.

You're mining a coin native to the platform, Pi. I checked the value on Coin gecko and it's at R6.30 per coin.

Base earning power for anybody is 0.25 Pi per hour, the more people you get to join, the higher your power.

So you're able to make around R250 a week when starting out.

You need an invite code to join.

I'm using the app on android, it is on the Play Store.

Does anyone else have experience with the platform?

Where are you able to convert Pi to BTC or cash?

Hmm. I'm asking the same question. Seems a pointless affair, if there isn't a platform to convert . also got given an invite : not entirely sold on it. In fact, I'm not sure I'm sold on it at all . Something about it makes no sense.
i can see the draw though : I, for one, didn't pay any attention to BTC when it came out .. *sigh

Yeah, my point is I question 'being able to make R250 a week' since you're not getting any R anywhere in that equasion lol.

Can one even withdraw at all? Asking for a friend.

Not yet. Actually haven't gone through the fingerprint yet, but realllllly pondering about the whole pii mining thing; I'm struggling to see their angle, to be brutally honest.
Again: it sort of wants you to"increase security" by inviting more people to join which increases your mining("") power . Not really an ideal pitch given what we're going through currently with other big ponzi issues(not that this seems to be a ponzi) .

So looks like d-date is 31 December 2024. Hopefully I will then see if all my everyday mining was in vain. I have about 4 000, but most of it has been through my network, all of whom have basically given up long ago.

CoinGecko states the current price for the IOU is $64, but most reckon when the mainnet launches it would be between $100 and $200 per pi.

Did you complete KYC?

I mean one can live in hope, but I very much doubt at $64 even, it would be this simple to pay my house off.

Remember, all (most?)of us ignored BTC when it launched. I'd rather be wrong by having spent the last 5 years opening the app daily to "mine", than to live in regret.

100%.

I’ve got over 1,100 Pi a lot of which is locked up for three years but I turned that off a few months ago in anticipation.

Been running a node for ages as well, but been waiting for the Linux version as it’s on my Mac which isn’t always on.

I doubt that there would be a next bitcoin

it has cornered the cult for digital gold

for the tech it's irrelevant
Cult/people have shown they don't care for Blockchain tech , ie no real world application , just in-house circle jerk

If the tech mattered they would not have broken bitcoin, plus no coin can ever redo the fair distribution with zero premine/ founder tax which bitcoin had imo

The whole next bitcoin is just a term the founders/premine bunch throw around to have suckers to pump their shitcoun so they can dump into it

Im at 1320 , wonder if there is a way to change my "network" to one more active, none of the others that i initially joined with are active anymore

Yeah that’s my issue as well.

Would be nice to be able to link to existing users you know.

I need new kyc'd members to add to my security circle to avoid losing mined pi. Anyone willing to assist?

would be interesting to see if this ends up being worth anything :p

I’m seeing discussions around this Pi coin pop up everywhere. Probably because it’s started going online now and can be traded on exchanges, but seems everyone’s coins are locked up a while still, so no one has any real money yet.

What is the value proposition of this coin? What does the network actually do? What is the value proposition?

Because it seems like something anyone could mine on pretty much any device - so why would there be any value in something that is this easily obtainable?
