Yep. I bought it for scrounging the electronics.

There is others that maybe do not have a PC and cannot afford ADSL so those who know someone like that can pass on the info. At least he can get e-mail on TV 24/7 for R60.00 per month and surf the net cheaply at off peak times.

i started using them last year when it first came out and that was on a 56k modem and pre-paid telkom and it was perfect.

Pity it only has a dial up modem. Must be a nice item to hack for R50.00and make something else based Linux from it. It uses a bootable DiskOnChip flash (Now Sandisk) flash memory with is akin to the standard EEprom. Pity it is not the Ethernet model.

True. Pre 1999 technology but still worth it for those that can ill afford PC and Internet contracts.
