PICS: Protesters torch Gugulethu fire station

Idiots, awaiting arrests for arson, OH wait it nearly never happens and when it does it's a slap on the wrist.

Who did this and why?

The community needs to take a stand and stop this shiit. Absolute BS.

It was the community that done this because ''our land''.

Cape Town - Protesters in Gugulethu torched a fire station overnight as a result of a land dispute, a community leader said.

It's believed some residents invaded land belonging to a private owner.

Community leader Xolelwa Halom, said: "The land owner of the Cyril Ramaphosa informal settlement is willing to sell the land to the City of Cape Town, but the City does not want to buy the land for them. That is the reason why we protested in such a way."

I wouldn't repair the station, so the next time there is a fire within their community it can purge SA of their defective genes.

It was some in the community.

It was those who haven't had their stuff saved by firefighters that burned down the station.
It was those in Zwelihle that don't read that burned down the library and those that aren't sick that burned down the clinic.

A community leader oversaw the arson and rioting.

No sympathy from me.

They stayed in the drill yard until Metro Police and Law Enforcement had dispersed the protesters.

Y'know...I'm really curious.

What would happen if a mob of white folks went on down to a fire station and set it alight, all under the guise of a protest?
Would law enforcement also just disperse them...or would there be some arrests, court cases and convictions?

not reacting to these incidents in a similar intense manner will not get anything done
