Pig kidneys transplanted to human

Surgeons from the University of Alabama (UAB) at Birmingham have successfully transplanted genetically-altered pig kidneys into a human.

As published in the American Journal of Transplantation, the operation saw the kidneys transferred to the abdomen of a 57-year-old brain-dead man whose own kidneys were fully removed.

The study proved that genetically-altered kidneys could work as a replacement for human kidneys. However, the researchers said that some improvements could still be made in certain areas of the procedure.

soon we can transplant our brains into pig bodies for everlasting life.

There was also the heart transplant.

Now do: Pig Genitals

Year of the pig
Technically that would be 2031...

That said "the overall fortune will be just so-so in 2022 for the Pig people". I wonder if that is for the donor or recipient

I'm not giving in to the Chinese culture yet. I haven't even mastered European culture!

My comment was made in honour of the pig. Pig awareness year.

Eventually the will probably just transplant a human head on a pig, and in some cases you wouldn't even know the diffrence.

Knowing 2 people with Kidney failure, of which one recently received a donor kidney, this could be the difference between life and death.

Kidney failure (like any organ) is not pleasant, the endless dialysis sessions, quality of life etc.

Providing this is done responsibly and does not cause bacon prices to skyrocket, I fully support it ;)

Bacon prices shouldn't be affected. No cause for the rest of the pig to go to waste, take the kidney or whatever but convert the rest to crispy bacon.

I wonder if anti-vaxxers of the "don't want to be experimented on" persuasion are opposed to this.
