Hi guys... me again...
I must be the dumbest guy on this forum [:)] cause I don't get most of the tech talk... started to read up and look around for some insight but a few things ...

What does a pigtail imply? I get that its the conection between the modem and the would-be antenna (cantenna) but can someone please give some specs on length of cable, cable names (codes?) and connectors... my dads a smart man ans is making one for my antenna...

Can anyone help with detail on a "pigtail"

ALL HAIL PROASM

A pigtail is basically a small cable with the modem connector one end and a standard N-Type or BNC connector the other end, depends on what cable you going to use for your antenna. The cable length on my pigtail is about 200 mm long.
If you look on my site under my Antenna Tests, look at the last picture and you will see the small pigtail going into my large antenna cable.

Thanks ProAsm...
is there any way i can make my own one or should i buy one. Just very strapped for cash and want to better my signal... what sort of cable (that i can aquire locally) should i use..?

Thanks again

could i use standard coax for the cable? fom the antenna to the modem? what is the loss on coax?

Standard 50 ohm coax is fine provided its not longer than about 5 meters else you loose all you gain in the cable.
The pigtail is best to buy but shop around, ask Cerberus where he got his quote from as that was R90 I think which is pretty good.

Special drivers for certain motherboards is not and IPWireless problem as the manufacture of the motherboard needs to bring out a Bios patch for their product.
