Tramadol.
My mother is 78, has had chronic OA and polymyalgia rheumatica for 30+ yrs as well as 2 hips replaced with Titanium plates( when she was 70!)
She also has late stage degeneration of 4th lumber in her spine causing the worst pain she says.
She's a strong old goat. but sadly her quality of life has been severely impacted, even basic chores like picking things up, getting out of bed in morning, walking is almost impossible without 4-6 hourly medication.
She swears by Tramadol ( although please do your own research and be aware of habit forming potential as well as drug interactions). It's only available on prescription so will need to see your doc.
Fortunately, for her debilitating condition, she gets some of her medication free at the hospital pharmacy monthly.
