Pinnacle Africa service

45 days is a very long time to get the product. You are probably losing money as well since the server hasn't arrived yet. If you play nice, you'll get your server next year.
This guys will always pass the buck and it will remain like that if you don't stand up for yourself.

Yes PM might make mistakes, but they need to sort it out, instead of playing the blame game.

Successfull business's have only black and white(That what customer service is all about). It ensures that both the client and the Supplier have an identical idea of how the transaction is gonna unfold.
If someone sends me a proforma invoice I consider the order made.
If the ETA is 14 days. It;s 14 days.. I know is estimated and there will be a standard dev, but at 3x you are way off the bell curve. The problem here is not that the supplier is out of stock, the problem is that the supplier sold 2 servers and ordered 1. So it's a systems break down in the supply chain.

I us Pinnacle as my primary supplier and have had awesome service... I have had a similar issue with one sales rep giving my order to someone else but I just ordered an equiv alternative.

I agree. If you speak to the right person you will be getting good service. Like I said we only speak to one person and never received any delays.

Every time a supplier messes up with some particular system or component, I go hunting for another one that does the same brand.

I guess this is pretty much sums up what I'm saying. They all make mistakes.. if we do as Drake claims, and I know I have in the past, we'll end up hunting for new suppliers all the time - they all mess up eventually - sometimes it's completely within their control and they are able to fix it swiftly, and other times they can't. I believe that this post may be one of the latter cases, obviously also keeping in mind that the manager's reaction seems quite unsympathetic.

Rather than moving from supplier to supplier, dropping one when there's a mess up, I prefer to stick with the guys that get it right almost all the time - and when they mess up, are willing to do everything reasonable within their power to fix it.

Sorry to Bump an old thread, but never ever promise a client a waiting time on a product otherwise you will create a unfortunate situation for yourself. Rather tell the client you will Phone him once you have stock of the item.

Regards.

But Pinnacle don't call back, which creates a fresh problem.

some people don't respond well to threats.

What are you on about (or just what are you on?)

Their support guy promised >5 times in 2 weeks to call back and only called once.

Good one. Chuckle. All I'm saying is support guys (who are people too, I'm sure you've forgotten), whom are also people (a brief reminder), do not respond kindly to legal threats.

And I'm sure he promised he would call 5 times when a replacement card was found. Which he did.

You were not there, so stop stirring. We're here talking about service, not the contract of sale with other parties.

When speaking with you, I feel the correct topic is disservice. Apologies to OP (and anyone else reading Lounger's posts).
