BRYANSTON –A travelling trailer billboard has the public in a frenzy over pit bull fighting.

NSPCA is investigating the illegal trailer advertisement concerning pit bull fights.

Social media posts on Facebook went viral on 27 June when motorists posted a picture of the trailer advertisement. It reads; “Fight night, pit bull tournament, main: Nitro VS Thor”.

The advertisement continues to provide booking details and even offers a website.

Animal fighting has been banned in South Africa since the ’40s. Under the Animal Protection Act No.71 of 1962 in section 2B, Animal Fights, it states:

“(1) Any person who – (a) possesses, keeps, imports, buys, sells, trains, breeds or has under his control an animal for the purpose of fighting any other animal…

shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years.”

NSPCA senior inspector, Wendy Wilson commented that they have received hundreds of phone calls reporting the illegal advertising. “We are just as outraged as everyone else about the illegal matter. We are continuing our investigations and will let the public know any details as soon as we know,” added Wilson.

Wilson explained that they are trying to track the bakkie down as it has been constantly on the move since this morning.

Since the muppets were stupid enough to put a phone number in place, maybe RICA can be used for something useful for once in its existence...

Then we can setup a fight to the death between the 2 dog owners while the dogs are adopted by families that will actually love them.

This does indeed appear to be for dog fighting.
But the advert is illegal because it may encourage dog fighting.
The website appears to be down - http://www.cajunrules.co.za/
And the Cell Number given just goes to voice mail - 071-238-8738.

I call bollocks on it being for an MMA cage fight....

Pit Bull Tournament and pictures of Pit bulls... its about dog fighting, plain and simple.
 
Advert for a MMA cage fight. Didn't know pitbulls do te cage fighting thing. Surely anyone with half a brain should know that the dog figthing thing is a sensitive topic. And on top of that pitbulls on their own.

i know there are these dog fights going on, kraaifontein brackenfell kuilsriivier areas. done some work there in certain areas and heard people talk.

had a friend who use to rescue the ones that lost, she bread with them. if they lost they would sometimes just be thrown on the side of the road on the way home. sad
