I've just looked back at a few pics taken on a full moon night from a mountain of the city. There is quite a lot of darkness/shadow/black about the area below us since there are no lights there.

There are lots of lit pixels in the darkness/shadow/black areas now that were never there before. :(

What could the problem be?

****e, could be my one LCD, an LG and about 2.5 years old now. There are no pixel problems when I move the picture over to my 1.5 month old Samsung LCD.

Haven't had a reply yet, but everything is fine on my Samsung.

Funny, in some pics the LG displays the blacks perfectly. In others, there are a light pixels in the black areas.

Pity seeing as though my LG has better picture quality.

Uploaded one of the affected pics here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/short-sighted_shooter/3385903756/sizes/l/ - was uploaded before when there was no pixel problem.

But after I upload it, it displays fine on both monitors.

It seems it only displays bad pixels when using Windows filmstrip preview and in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer... No problem in Paint.

Displays badly in Microsoft Office Picture Manager too...

Looks like your screens don't have equal contrast/brightness/saturation settings. Your LG is doing a better job displaying the noise/artifacts. Not sure why you get different results between programs.

I think you were shooting the messenger. There is noise, and the LG is showing it (possibly settings were better).

Can't be. The LG never did it before. When I first loaded the pics on there were no problems.

Funnily enough there are no problems this morning... Hmmm.
