Plain vanilla ADSL with no wifi?????

It has been so long since I've bought an ADSL modem. Is there still someone who sells just the ADSL modem with no wifi????

Like this one which the web site says is EOL??? https://www.tp-link.com/za/products/details/TD-8817.html
Not sure if things like that are sold anymore since WiFi is so ubiquitous. But you can buy a router that has WiFi and just disable the WiFi in the settings. You can also remove the antennas if it has the external ones. But just disabling WiFi in the settings will do the job.

There are very good reasons for separating the ADSL modem from a wired router and from wi-fi router.
The modem can be placed at the best possible place for terminating a line together with surge protection. A LAN router can then be placed centrally. Proper Wi-Fi APs can then be placed at the correct place for best coverage.

Not to mention protection from lightning

That as well. Also, a proper firewall could be introduced where it suits the user.

PS: I have always resisted combined functionality. My current ADSL modem is exactly like this.

That and I don't want to pay a premium for functions I won't make use off.
Except that even the cheapest ones have WiFi bundled into them...

I did look about for something like this for a while back when I had adsl. Didn't find one, gave up.

Okay, then there are two of us. I have Wi-Fi APs and no combined functionality. I am going to be very upset if my current ADSL modem only packs up!

About 18 years old!
