Just got it today from Cable Applications - 598.50 with VAT

Don't know how it performs yet, but here's a composite photo of what I got. Will add more to this thread in terms of performance as and when I get it up and running - advise on this would be appreciated !

My line will be installed tommorrow *possibly* so I'm busy gearing myself up for it - Telkom were out today - very friendly guy called Lionel, couldn't gain access to neighbours house = access to pole - I must admit, most Telkom oaks I've met are very cool people. He did his best, no dought about it, plus got my line sorted out at the box which services my area - iow, ready to go.

Anyway, I hope that there'll be a guy out tommorrow :)

Will keep you informed about this router. I have a switch so a 4 port router is just overkill - I can get 6 beers down my local pub for the extra cost and in fact I did ! [:D] - Schwabing in Randburg !

Kudos to Telkom - guy arrived bang on time, installed cable from pole to house and inside house, hooked up - took 4 hours.

Well, first of all, I didn't have a clue what I was doing when trying to get the router up and running as an actual router, so for now, I just set it up in bridged mode and hooked it up to my smoothwall - works perfect. Took me 3 hours to figure it out - typical that my MyCareLess connection was disconnected today, so I couldn't do any reasearch on line - a case of trial and error, although the small booklet helped me get it into bridged mode.

I think I may just leave it like that, unless there's a reason not to ?
I've got the bandview mod installed on Smoothwall so I can keep an eye on my cap.

So far, no troubles at all. Smoothwall runs it as a PPPoE device flawlessly.
