At high volume there is slight distortion, but for the most part, this headset provides a great audio experience.
Gaming headphones are a dime a dozen these days. A variety of these neighbour-friendly gizmos cater to the needs of gamers in different ways: whether they’re looking for a budget set that simply does the job (but not much more), or if they’re looking for a monster headset featuring all the bells and whistles.
The GameCom 777 rests somewhere in between these two extremes. These headphones come with a USB sound card that provides gamers who don’t have a sound card that supports 5.1-channel surround sound with the means to get the full experience out of the headset. The set is physically large, but extremely comfortable to wear. Soft material lines the cups and the top of the set, making long periods of use a pleasant affair, both in terms of keeping the ambient sounds out (although you’ll still be able to hear your teammates’ cries) and enhancing the comfort level.
One great feature is the concealed microphone boom, which can be tucked away when not in use, meaning that you won’t look like a complete fool unless you absolutely have to. In terms of sound, the device offers plenty of volume and the audio produced is clear, while the rich, deep bas keeps in-game explosions at their meatiest.
