Hi,

Ended up buying a plasma a few weeks ago as the equivilant LCD's where around 30% pricier. My one concern around plasma was burn in/image retention - but after researching a little longer I found this was a problem of the past as most had anti-burn in technology and took 48 hours to burn etc etc etc

However, a static image displayed on our LG 42" plasma seems to linger after not even an hour. The next day it is still there (very faintly - only when I look for it) and I do what LG call a 'white wash' for 30 minutes or so minutes to rid it.

Are they all so bad?!

We've had our Panasonic 42" plasma for approx a year now. No burn-in.

Go into your panel's menu, there might be a mode to prevent burn-in, some panels shift the pixels or do pixel 'walking' or whatyoumacallit to prevent burn-in. Though, try not to leave your TV on unattended, it wastes a lot of electricity anyway.

lol

the logo was burnt unto my screen

but it goes away after 30min

and it took me 6 hours of being in the same channel
