Even my mother-in-law received one from me. :D

Now I really dont believe you... unless it was rigged with explosives.

I am also in the KZN area, wouldnt mind getting some of these at those prices. What brand and what store was it?

I check store ads quite often and have never ever seen them at those prices so I am really sceptical about it. Not trying to call you a liar but its one of those that I have to see to believe...

Hi all ! I bought a plasma 51 inch samsung hd ready tv about a year ago for R7500-00. The best buy ever. It works well with my hdpvr 2p and works well with xbmc (my pc through an hd cable). Just a word of caution , I have been an multichoice installer for 10 years and have seen it all, Plasma (especially the newer models) works great with all media sd/hd/vga but the "cheap names" normally only works ok with an hd connection.

The point I want to make is this. if you want to get value for money by an samsung plasma.

I have installed various led screens up to the value of R45000.00 and the pixels just wasn't moving the same as on an plasma.
Also want to point out that it was mostly Lg screens that was not that good(comparing to Samsung)

Hi varknek,

What is your experience with burn in. I have also read about a buzzing sound (with Plasma), any experience?

regards

I also have a 50" plasma and XBMC is fine. The one problem I have is that XBMC turns the screen blank so I leave the house / go to sleep thinking the tv is off even though its on. I now check the red led indicator when I remember.

put the screensaver on "Fade" and set the % to something low but visible.

I also have a Samsung plasma and have never experienced it. Have the tv since November 2010.

Same here. I can hear a slight buzz if I put my head about 10cm from the tv itself...otherwise nothing.
