Anyone with experience of this? Please share your experience and thoughts.

I consider it as an option for a hip that suffers from osteoarthritis. If I can avoid a hip replacement, I'd want to do so. It seems very invasive if there are other possible solutions.

Thought this was going to be about hair regrowth.

I have administered PRPs but don't believe they are effective.

I've had it done once in my shoulder. My shoulder was MUCH worse for a few days and then gradually improved to the point where it was before the treatment. You should know if your medical aid won't pay for something that it is probably snake oil.

Interested in what route you did take?

For now, the dr and I decided to blast it for a while with Arthrochoice (it contains collagen, grape seed extract, glucosamine, msm, etc.); it has a possibility of regenerating the cartilage. In one spot in the upper hip I have none, really bone on bone. We will combine that with some physiotherapy to enhance mobility. Let's see where ot goes.

My dentist referred me to this doctor. She (the dentist) claimed that the therapy did wonders for her knees.
My medical aid only paid for the consultation, I had to pay in over R3K out of my pocket for the treatment. Maybe if I went back for more treatments it might have worked, but I was not prepared to cough up a few thousand every three months. I found that cortisone injections worked better.
I do agree with using surgery as a last resort though, but if you are young and active enough (and have decent bone density), a hip replacement can do wonders.

I have had treatment, but for bursitis and a very small tear in my patella ligament. Knee has been fine since then for 5 months now.

Doubt it would be effective for Osteo though? It does not repair cartilage, but rather fights infection. The guys over here see cortisone in the same light as black tar heroin...so I had hyaluronic acid or PRP as the options.

Active as in play golf several times a week, lately using a cart instead of walking. As to age, retired a handful years ago.
Body is in fair shape considering repairs from several broken bones and ligaments over the years due to sport, (many torn ligaments and broken arms) a car crash (as passenger) and motorbike injuries (playing with a large BMW in deep sand). I contain several pieces lf titanium already :p
