Platinum Game Versions

Fellow Gamers,

What would the difference be between a Platinum version, and Game of the Year version?

There is R100 difference between the 2.

i'm not 100% sure and this possibly only applies to certain games but some game of the year editions come with downloadable content on the disc like with fallout 3. and platinum just means that it's cheaper cause they've sold a whole bunch of games

Depends what game it is, but "platinum" = "classic", normally. A repackaged version of the original game, usually reserved for games that sell exceedingly well. GOTY editions often include additional content - as an example, the Fallout 3 GOTY editions included all the downloadable content released earlier.

Ah, ok. Game in reference is Borderlands. Thus i assume then, it should include the dlc packs?

Borderlands was great fun. And yes, I'd hazard it would include all previously released DLC. It should state something to that effect on the packaging, though.

Ouch. But still worth it then. DLC's are around R200 on their own.

I'll check it out. Ordering from Kalahari, but will try find the GOTY edition cover somewhere to check.

I bought Borderlands GOTY edition from Kalahari last year, it comes with codes so you can download the DLC. In contrast the LBP GOTY edition included the DLC, so it differs from title to title.

I know it's old, but I am still keen to get borderlands. I sorta buy in the past. New titles are a bit expensive.

I'm a casual gamer, so I'm happy to wait for the Platinum or GOTY editions which offer much better value for money.
