Playboy will no longer publish photos of nude women.

Yes, you read that right. According to a Monday report in the New York Times, the magazine famous for publishing sexually provocative images of woman, sans clothes, will make the change next March as part of a redesign.

The dramatic shift to eliminate nude photos in the magazine’s print edition was proposed by top editor Cory Jones last month and approved by founder and Editor-In-Chief Hugh Hefner, the Times reported....

If they were smart they would have sold it as a feminist move.
 
Makes sense. I would guess that magazines like FHM and GQ reach a much wider audience. The market for hardcopy porn is dying out very quickly, probably, maybe.
 
I like Playboy magazine. I've really enjoyed reading it over the years.
For the articles. The girls were nice eye candy, but yeah...

I can't remember who it was, but a world famous photographer known for his sensual nudes was once quoted as saying 'The internet has spoiled glamour photography. Nowadays you can type in 'Blonde has sex with goat', and get a reply back asking you to specify what type of goat.'

Its not that the nudes are bad. But you see more nude women in a episode of GoT than in Playboy. This isn't liberal - its changing with the times.
Besides - this way they could go electronic - no centerfold. :whistle:
 
Most men bought Playboy for the articles anyway, so this must seem to be a brilliant move :erm:

this, and not this. the US version always used to have journalists with brains, same went for penthouse. so the articles were actually worth reading. and of course, BOOBIES :D
