has anyone imported a ps4 from amazon.com?
The price is indicated at $399 including shipping
Were there any additional customs charges or anything?
Would you recommend buying it from amazon rather than paying R6000 for it locally?

Not sure where you get your price from unless you've signed up to Prime or something. Unit + intl. shipping costs a bit more than the $399 you quoted there. I would rather just buy it local and have it covered locally than save four / five hundred rand.

With Amazon you pay everything no customs or extras what you get on your invoice is the final, but for peace of mind get it locally

http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=399&From=USD&To=ZAR
399.00 USD = 4,421.88 ZAR

You will also be slapped with taxes as it comes into RSA for example:

+10% == 4864.068 OR
+20% == 5306.256

[-]How much do you think shipping is going to be ?? R500? R250?[/-]

http://store.orange.com/za/search/?q=Sony+PlayStation+4+EU

Sony PlayStation 4 EU: R5,550

Do the math... you are not going to save that much in the end?
