That's a fail on MS side ...
Not really dude, The Xbox360 in it's current form has dominated Sony and their PS3 and that was released way before PS3 did (if you can remember the delays etc)
Sony also underestimated the social nature of where gaming was headed to, whilst basically headbutting with gamers all the way through the process, MS really embraced it. Sony to me, at this stage, is mediocare to non-existent. I'd rather buy a Nintendo before I buy a PS3.
And looking at the constant improvements made to the Xbox360 console over the years, it's not something MS just said "fine, we're happy with this, we'll leave it at that and whenever we have a smaller "slim" version, release that instead" (like Sony does) No, they upgraded several components way before they came around with their "slim" version.
So I'm excited to the next Xbox console release to see what they come up with and how it will just utterly kick PS4's ass. If the PS4 releases before MS Xbox new console, that means MS has the upperhand and time to overshadow Sony in tech. Something Sony had for almost a full year and didn't really grabbed it by the balls and improved it before shipping (since their costs for the console was way over the price gamers paid for)
Oh... and you can bet your ass Xbox will be fully backwards compatible. Unlike the new PS4
