Hello

Who here has bought the recently released PlayStation Classic? How is it? What games are on it? Is it worth it?

Thanks

Loot had it for just under R1k a week ago - not sure if they still do but yeah the price seems to be falling fast! i expect it to drop to below R1k permanently very soon at this rate.

There was one on demo at my local IC, thought I'll give it go, selected Abe's Oddessy and waited and waited and waited for the game to load and just got fed up and left. It felt like more than 2 minutes but could be less than a minute, I'm used to games starting up instantly.

It seems the PS Classic is a major let down. That's a shame it promised to be this great nostalgic thing.

If you youtube a view review videos on it, you will see it is major letdown.

If you want to get it to later hack it and add PS1 roms on it, it might actually be a nice emulator system. However, what SA stores are asking for it, it is way overpriced.

Under the hood it seems as if it's more or less on par with the SNES Classic in as far as what it can do.
One would have thought the actual PS Classic hardware should be much more capable seeing as it's a generation newer than the Nintendo offering.
So they even dropped the ball there as well.

That is a massive CRT, mine was a 29" Sansui
That was pretty massive for the time period, most people had 54cm TVs which were 22" :). Yours was a 74cm TV which looked huge.
