HI,

Wondering if one could this working with something like ExpressVPN?
Does it accept local credit cards?
Would I need to change my account too?

@Dolby

Last time I tried, I could access it. However, doing the required speedtest it failed (even with a 40mb fibre connection 2 years ago). Will try again later today as I now have a 100mb fibre connection and see if anything has changed since last time.

EDIT:

Okay, just to report back real quick. If you try and use a local based PSN account it will immediately say that "the service is not supported in your country". Only way to bypass it is to use a non-local PSN account (US based one that I have works fine without a VPN - you can create one too without any VPN). That's all fine and well, however, it's impossible to try the 7 day free trial because they require payment details on said account. So two issues then:

a) You can't add a local credit card to non-local PSN account
b) My paypal account is also localized, so you can't use that either

The only solution is to buy a US PSN voucher ($20) and subscribe for a month to the PS Now service. That will completely bypass any restrictions, although it would cost you nearly R300 just to trial the service. I'll bite the bullet towards month end after pay day and see how the service pans out with my connection and report back.

Also, I think that if I make a UK based account one it might be bit better connection streaming wise seeing that the latency will be lower to the UK than the US (at the time of writing). But I'll first try with my US account.

Was hoping someone in the interwebs could help me.

1) I have been able to get the trial to work. (Used a prepaid card and a friends US visa card.) The PS store does address verification on the credit card you use.
2) Used VPN services (NordVPN) to try get around the geographic block. Used the US, UK and Spain, all supported countries)
3) I have a 100mb/100mb uncapped Webafrica Vumatel fibre line.

This is where the problem comes in.

It says my connection is not good enough. I tried plugging in and using wifi incase the router was a problem?

Anyone got ideas?

What makes the PS Now service so frustrating is there is no way to see what is causing the failure (i.e. no test the connection)
My gut tells me my latency is the issue but difficult to determine

When using a VPN, you route your connection through an extra server, so of course there will be extra latency involved. Add that to the already 170ms to the overseas server you will probably experience, and I see it as a good thing that they block you.

You can have 10mb/s or 10gps fibre, it won't make a difference to your latency.

I see the service now allows for download of certain games, does this mean it runs locally (getting around the latency issue)?. Anybody tried this?

Hate to burst your bubble, but see bullet number 2:

Huh? You mean "This feature is not available on Windows® or MacOS® computers. "? I'm asking about running on the PS4.

Oh my bad then, but you didn't mention you wanted to access it on PS4, hence my reply.

Hi

Read through but still could not figure out if this is possible... and of so what are the steps?

Thanks

It can be made to work, however it’s utterly useless due to the latency.

I've read they've added a download and play offline feature. That should nullify the latency issue?

Hi,

Since that post of mine, I haven't attempted it again yet. However, if they added an offline option it should be worth checking out now though :)

I wonder if ps now will come to SA since openserve fiber packages changed,
