I have both and I have only found a single reason why you want to use Xbox, and that's to play the entire Dragon Age series on console.

Dragon Age 1 and 2 simply don't exist for PS4/PS5 and Inquisition runs at a smooth 60FPS on Series X whereas the version on PS only runs at 30 even on PS5 and feels like ass to play.

Another cool thing is you can do is stream from your PC to your Xbox with Apollo and moonlight.

Basically you can pay the much cheaper prices for a PC game and then stream it and play with perfect integration on the Xbox. Unfortunately PS5 does not support this.

Based on this I use the Xbox way more than the PS5.

Do you need to be in the developer mode for that? The one thing that annoyed me was that there is no built-in way to stream from one Xbox to another like on Playstation.

I use this quite often, have a PS5 Pro upstairs with a bunch of games on already and then stream them to another PS5 in a different part of the house. Quality isn't the greatest, even both being on 1gig ethernet, but it's fine.

I have briefly looked at this before but it seemed to involve sideloading and stuff. I'm wondering if there is an easier way I don't know about.

Their streaming from the Xbox to PC via the Xbox app is good, but it would be nice to stream from PC to Xbox too.

Xbox if you game on pc and don't want to pay much extra to keep your children off your gaming pc.

Nah just download moonlight on Xbox from the website, download Apollo on PC. Set the games you want to play, can be from gamepass, steam, GOG, pirate etc.

The controls auto adapt to the Xbox controller and you play.

Takes a bit to figure it out but so worth it.

Nope just download the apps on PC and Xbox, set the games you want to play and off you go.

This guide is pretty good but if you use Apollo you don't need the fake HDMI adaptor.

Sad day...

PlayStation exclusives aren’t coming to PC anymore

Sony reportedly won’t release its major single-player PlayStation games on PC anymore. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Hermen Hulst, who heads up PlayStation’s studios business, informed employees in a town hall on Monday about the change in strategy. Schreier had previously reported on the shift in March, saying that Sony scrapped plans to launch PC versions of last year’s Ghost of Yōtei and “other internally developed games.” Online games will still come to multiple platforms following this change in strategy, Schreier reported at the time.

I am going to call it. MS and Sony, likely both decided in cooperation on this because their consoles (and ecosystems) need to compete. It is mutual, and will place more emphasis on their marketing (and storytelling).

Xbox haven't declared their exclusive stance, yet, but I am sure that it is coming. Will it impact the PC? Dunno.

Basically, every corporate wants their own bubble. In some sense it is business-wise, but come to preservation it is a big blow.

ADDED: For some reason, people all over the internet have been banging the exclusivity drums. Yet, when you look into them, the lines are blurred.
