Hi all

I'm getting a PSP Go in Singapore on my way to Thailand in a couple of days. I was wondering which for which country I should make my Playstation Store account. Is it better to make an Asian/US one as opposed to a South African one? Is this even possible if I'm living in South Africa?

I have heard there is a better selection of games on the US/Asian stores as opposed to the South African store. Is this true?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Did the exactly the same thing when I went to Thailand. That airport in singapore is fantastic and much cheaper. Prepare to spend more!!!
I have a south african account on the ps3 and the game selection from the store is impressive for the PSP - I just used the same account. However I must check with the Jap or UK account that I also have.

Thanks for the reply. It's great that you can just buy them in the airport like that, duty free I'm assuming.

How is the PSP Go as a console? Do you find it better than the earlier versions?
 
Can;t really comment on the earlier versions as this is the first PSP for me as I'm away from home for weeks - i needed a portable gaming device to keep busy.
Most shopping is duty free, i just discarded all boxes before entering SA else you will deal with Customs.
The real bargins though are the PSP mini games - costs about R30 on average from the PSN store but they are tonnes of fun.
 
I think the biggest issue you're going to have registering at a foreign psn store is you need a credit card in that country to buy things don't you?

I'm pretty sure that's easy to circumvent. I was planning on buying PSN store cards online using PayPal. That way I can choose any country's store to buy from :)
