In gaming there's no difference.. Maybe consider getting a 955 with a 790gx board and use the cash to get yourself a decent ssd like the gSkill falcon instead of that black drive.

+1,no screen?:p

Ive never seen those SSD type drives, are they hard drives what are they for your system?

Dude go intel if you can afford it.

You would want the 965 not 955 for 19k, I got a 965 with a 790gx and it is good but the intel is still king.

+1 for going Intel if you can afford it. All the SSD will do is give you faster loading times, imo not worth the price premium (when they become affordable i'll get one). That WD black drive is still a top performer

What screen? It must be at least 1920x1080 to make use of that monster rig :)

Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing. It's a monster!

You do realize how fanboyish your post sounds right?

If you're getting an Intel for gaming, you want an i5-750, not the i7-920. It has the Turboboost, but lacks the HT, which you don't need for gaming. Tripple channel memory is pretty much irrelevant and with a single card you don't have to worry about the PCIE lanes. You'll just need a different mobo. It's cheap and there is little difference between it and the 965BE if you're deciding between the two. Read this analysis of 8 benchmarks if you want to wade through statistical data comparing the two, lol. But its conclusion is well worth noting:

So what does this prove?

1. The i5 750 is faster in the end.
2. Neither solution is a bad deal.
3. I have too much time on my hands.

In the end, if you are still undecided, I highly recommend the reader to take a piece of paper and a pen, or wordpad/notebook for you computer geeks, and list what apps and games you use the most. Then go and look at all 8 article's worth of benchmarks above and see which processor works best for your needs. The i5 750 and the Phenom II 965 DO have applications and games where they just plain work better.

At sybaratic:
Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz LGA1156 Processor R1,981.00

Well he didn't mention performance at all. He just said intel is king like it was fact.

Sigh. And the replies that you guys gave.

So if I say when it comes to power supplies isonic is king everyone will just believe me right?

LOL yet i am running an amd 965 with eca 790 board. As mentioned stating facts is not being a fanboy, what you do is being a fanboy.

Wow yes an intel fanboy running an amd system. Dude it is funny hearing you speak about fanboyism. entertains me no end :D

Shrigh, does the 965 BE outperform an i7 975 XE in the majority of apps/games out there? I doubt it. So i don't see how AMD is King after all, sure AMD is king when it comes to price vs performance for a gaming rig but the OP clearly has enough money for a High End GPU and CPU so i don't see why he should go AMD and sit with a lesser performing system

Enough about this AMD vs Intel stuff now!

Did you read the thread before posting? He's looking at the 920. Not the 975.

I did read it, i was referring to Killas statement that Intel is king and you saying that he's a fanboy for saying that
