Please explain this thread?

There used to be a photos section of this site.
But after some time it was decided to retire the photo section as it was no longer supported by the forum software.
So a bot was created to transfer each one of those photos from the old photos section to a new photos section where each old photo would have it's own thread.
 
That's not a thread, it's a forum section. IIRC initially it was where the old gallery photos went after it was shut down.
