I use an 8ta pre-paid sim in my Huawei E5331 modem, and purchase data bundles as I need.
Each time I need to top-up the hassle starts...if at home sim into a basic old Nokia...recharge and buy bundle...not to bad, BUT if out on a building site only with the modem no luck...could recharge online via OOB screen but it would not allow a data purchase.
The real "mission impossible" is to try and register the sim and thereby have an account to easily recharge through...
Try and register online.... via New User: The sign-in form presented > Fill in details and tick Accept conditions > All good!
Now the genius moment!
A screen opens and says +- "enter the six digit code SMSed to your mobile number...brilliant, the sim is in my modem.... How now???
I have an iPhone ...sim won't go into phone...
If they gave the option of an alternate email or cell no to send the confirmation code, then possible to break out of this loop.
I eventually managed by using Launch2Net and my E367 stick (an Apple Mac app) ...this can receive SMS's ...Windows users tough luck I guess??
Please take a look at this.
