Hey all.

Well I need some advice please. My dad moved to a different city end of November. He gave Telkom a call long before that to cut his old line and to install new one long before he moved.

The first date was in the first week of December.. Then a week later. Then end of December...
Then they said they had a cable problem and they have to fix that first. The 2 Jan I phoned them again and they said that everything in now fine with the cable and they will install it on the 6th.

Again a no show. I phone the again last week and ask to talk to the manager. ( I am not sure it she really was the manager) but she went over all the info (like I have done every time I have phoned them) She realize that they had the address wrong even though I told them from the beginning.. and every time they said they have corrected it.

So she gave me a new ref number.. I phoned this morning.. Now they are back to the cable problem?

We don't know what to do. The lady told me that she can not do anything about it.. She just read what she see one the system..

Telkom's bad service drives away customers to rather use overpriced internet. Wish Telkom worked like a well oiled machine but that will never happen.

My husband said that I should complain on "hallo peter". I have used it before and was very happy. But I don't think it will work this time. Telkom are under the companies the don't reply. There are 2600 reports in the last 12 months. 2413- bad and 187- good. a ratio of only 7%.

The biggest problem is, is that they are the "monopoly" in SA...

Well to be dead honest, they are still the monopoly cos the SNO or Second Network Operator aka Neotel kind of failed horribly, I bad mouthed Telkom at Neotel and after being with them for 4 months I ran back to Telkom *embarrased* as they are a helluva lot better than Neotel...count ur blessings...I could go on and on... :P

The cool thing about telkom is, when it works, it generally works well, in my personal experiences.
