I can't get my magnifier to go away. (using Vista Business SP1)

I've tried <CTRL ALT DEL> | Ease of Access | untick Magnifier
It just comes back next time I reboot or logoff.

I can't delete the magnify.exe file from system32 folder either.
("You need permission to perform this action")??

Nope there are lots of people with the same problem.

Have you tried editing startup stuff in the registry, a few people are suggesting that...

This is snippet from WinVista Forumns

To turn off the magnifier's startup initiation (make it so the magnifier doesn't start when Vista starts), it's Start->Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center->Make the computer easier to see, and then under the heading of "Make things on the screen larger" is a box marked "Turn on Magnifier", about halfway down the page. If the box is checked, the magnifier will start when Vista starts. Uncheck it to keep the magnifier from starting when Windows Vista starts.

Done the ease of access, no luck.

I'll have to read up on editing the registry then.

Ugh... sympathies from my side. Had this on my wife's profile with blerrie Narrator - try having your laptop speak to you every time you log in for heightened annoyance levels! Can't for the life of me remember how I got it to go away - it was a tickbox in some arb place, not 'Ease of Access'...
