Hi there,

I have just bought a new Vodacom 3G USB modem contract, but used to have Telkom wifi ADSL. I still have the DuoPlus 300WR router. I would like to connect to the internet on my PC (Windows XP) through the 3G modem, but also use the Telkom router to send the 3G connection out as a wifi signal for cellphones to connect to internet.

Is this possible and if so how will I set it up on my PC.

Will be great if someone can help me!

Thanks

You have to first setup the 3G connection on your PC, then share this internet connection.

Then in order to connect another device, the IP address can be set to DHCP, but the DNS must be set to the IP address of the PC that is sharing the 3G connection.

Hope this helps.

Yes this is partly right.

- Share connection
- IP will change
- Change IP back
- Other PCs: Set gateway and DNS as the computers IP which is sharing connection

So:
PC1
Sharing connection
IP: 192.168.0.1

PC2
IP: 192.168.0.2
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS 1: 192.168.0.1
DNS 2: 8.8.8.8

PC3
IP: 192.168.0.3
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS 1: 192.168.0.1
DNS 2: 8.8.8.8
