Hi guys so this morning my dlink router decides it's going to give up, tried a reset but no luck and as I don't have a laptop to see what's going on as the WiFi is off I'm resorting to alternative methods.

In the meantime I found my old tp-link ADSL modem with router built in.

I am wondering if it's possible to set it up to connect to the ont or whatever it's called.

Ps in layman's terms if possible

I dont know if you can use the tplink but i know some prople have been having problem with the dlink that they are supplying for fiber check if the usb light is on without usb connected if so the router is faulty it is a common fault so return it and the isp should exchange it.

Does your TP-Link have a WAN port on it?

If you go to the WAN Settings - where you would setup the PPPoE username and password - are you able to switch away from DSL port?

Oh thank you so much yes that's exactly what happened, wish I was patient enough ended up buying a new router yesterday.

Anyway I will send the old one in and have it as a backup just incase.

I am glad to hear that you were able to get connected!
