.... a destination for a December / January holiday with small kids (6 and 4):

Argentina
Vietnam
Morocco

These are on my list of countries that seem worth a visit, but the kids' experience in a foreign country can make or break it.

Any motivation for your choice?

So my kids are younger than yours and are more admin on a plane so what influences our decisions are:

flight times and duration - is it an overnight flight where they'll hopefully sleep most of the way? How much internal travelling will there be?
any things to consider like malaria (again maybe more a thing for younger kids)
will they be able to do the same activities the parents are doing?

Those were the things we considered.

My kids are great plane travelers - very few complaints, as long as they can watch cartoons and have their favourite snacks on hand, which I always make sure of.

I mainly worry about keeping them occupied during the holiday and not stuck in a hotel room.

'Nam is nice to experience on a scooter, not sure if that affects your plans at all with kids.

Vietnam. Have heard that it's very up and coming, and had friends enjoy their experiences out there.
