Hi guys, I currently have a 2006 BMW 323i auto with 58000kms that I'm CONSIDERING selling to buy a 2007 Lexus IS250 with 95000kms on the clock.

Is this a good move? I plan on selling the BMW for more than what I will buy the Lexus for and will make a saving of about R5000 in total on the whole deal. Should I go for it or not? Thanks.

Sounds fine to me and the Lexus will probably cost you less in the long run as well.

I assume you want to ditch the beemer as it is close to end of maintenance plan? (5 years) but why go for a car with higher kilo's?

Wouldn't do it. There are many, many workshops perfectly able to service out-of-motorplan Beemers.

and if OP is the original owner and has looked after it then it shouldn't be so bad.

I would rather have the bm over the lexus

Don't do it.
Rather extend the time on the Beemer motorplan. It will cost maybe 2K for 2 years max.

Lol I think it is much more than that, more like 10k per 20 000 kilo's or something to that effect.

But yes I would still agree with this over changing to that lexus.

OP is there anything wrong with your beemer?

I'd take that beamer if I had the cash!!! :D

You can easily get an extended motor plan warrantee, but the Lexus is a great car and probably cheaper to maintain.

Whats wrong with your Beemer that you prefer about the Lexus?

I'm currently in the process of selling my old car, and have bought a new one, and I can tell you it takes longer and is more stressful than you think. You will also get less for your Beemer than you think, guaranteed. So, only do it if you really love that Lexus and plan to keep it for a minimum of 2 years. Otherwise its not worth the hassle. I'm planning to keep my new car until it disintegrates so its fine for me.

The Lexus comes with indicator lights and controls as standard! :p

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses. Really nothing wrong with my beemer, its still in very good shape. I just love the Lexus, and can only afford one with higher mileage. My beemer's motorplan expires in July this year. Most of you seem to think I should keep the beemer so maybe I will...
