I am in the market for a laptop (current one packed up). I don't have money at this stage, so I can't spend too much on a laptop. But I do need one.

I am looking at the following two:

1. HP ELITEBOOK 8560W, QUAD CORE i7, 750GB HD, 12GB RAM, BLU-RAY DRV, WIN7 PRO, WEBCAM, WIFI,ETC
or
2. DELL LATITUDE E7440 ULTRABOOK CORE i5 | 4310U 4th GEN | 8GB Ram (Warranty July 2017)

I like that the Dell still has a warrantee, until July 2017, so I could keep it till then and then buy a better one. But the HP looks to be better.

I don't want to spend more than about R7000. I use it for general officer work, but do enjoy a few games (nothing too demanding though).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

The i5 in the Dell is only a dual core with Hyper threading. The HP also has awesome reviews from what I can see.

So the HP by far. Not even close.

The Elitebook - you buying that 2nd hand?

i would go for the HP because its more powerful being a quad core and has more ram.
