please help me [link fails in the evening]

My adsl telephone line works fine always.

During the evening my internet fails. So tonight got hold of telkom, they reset their side. But it was still dead. So they create a broadband link on the main computer, and now the internet works on this computer. What does this proof. They say my Dlink router might be the problem.

What they did is to put your router in bridge mode which means the router has been disabled so the unit only acts as a modem and your pc does the pppoe connection. If your connection is stable with this setup then yes it usualy means your router is the problem.

You could try to upgrade the router firmware and maybe reset it to factory defaults afterwards.

I did reset it to factory, and then reload it.
It seems fine now.

It is a D link router, hope I will be able to find firmware for it.
