So I am a 43 year old looking to change jobs (from Hospitality to IT). I have completed my A+ and N+ this year and will write S+ as soon as I have some spare money. Seeing how Dec is a quiet period for me I have some time on my hands to do some studying. I am thinking of the following and would like some input as to what would help me in my career. I already operate a small PC repair business doing repairs and network installations to small clients (largest one has 20 odd computers in their shops), I also do websites so am familiar with HTML and a wittle bit of Python. My options are:

Linux +
CCNA
ITIL

I would like to pursue a career in cyber security but I am really finding it difficult to get a foot in the door anywhere even as a junior technician just so I can get going!

Any advice would be welcomed, thanks.

CCNA will help you the most by far. It's not even close.

Do you think the Linux cert would help me as well or is it just something I should learn on the side and not bother with the exam?

CCNA is a no brainer

CCNA is a now brainer. But look at cyber security as a career too. That could take you far. We need some good cyber security specialists these days.

Its the route I would like to go but to study further in this field I need to get some real world experience.
