Hi all. I need help please.
A friend of mine bought a (weird unknown to me) accesspoint and uses a mweb adsl modem.
The modem plugs into this desktop comp.
He now wants to use the desktop comp with a wirless card in it, as a internet connection sharing setup.

He has one other laptop with a wirless pcmcia card in and another desktop.
He obviously want acces from all comps.
Is this possible? How else should I configure this?
His setup at the moment uses the main desktop comp to establish the connection.
The accesspoint's software config wants to use 192.168.2.x 255.255.255.0 as a setup.

How should I set this up for him?
What device should feature as an gateway?

Please help if you can.

The setup is basically like this:

Internet
|
MWEB_Modem----------Lan_Card---Desktop_Comp ------Wireless_Card

(Standalone_Accesspoint)

Laptop---Wireless . . . . . . . . Wireless---Second_Desktop_Comp

on the desktop_comp in the pic above, select both the wired and wireless connection within network properties, right click them and select "bridge connections". that will get it all working...desktop_comp should have dhcp enabled, and ics set to on. all other comps set to dhcp also.
piece of p1ss

does the accesspoint not have a WAN port that you can just connect the adsl modem to it?

Hi Werner. Which device should be the dhcp server?

Hi ziglet
Nope, that device doesn't have any ports...

when you enable ics then the main desktop becomes the dhcp server.

actually, just realised something (major DOH!! moment)...no need to bridge the connections at all..just enable ics on main desktop comp on the wired lan interface, put others onto dynamic ip's and bob's your uncle.
