My nephew's 10th birthday party is coming up and he wants a soccer party. Being the only other soccer-loving members of the family, hubby and I were volunteered to organize it. Hubby clearly has no time for such nonsense, so "he's giving me free rein" as he put it. Of course.

Anyway, my main problem now is finding an outdoor pitch that can be rented on a Saturday, since most soccer clubs play/train on Saturdays. My initial thought was the one in Green Point, which has about four pitches which can be rented, but it turns out the city is closing it down in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone know of any other clubs with more than one pitch that can be rented? I have Montagu Soccer Arena and Stadium on Main as back up plans, but outdoors is first prize for my nephew and I want to do my best to give him that.

Any help appreciated.

Also try Durbanville. They have a smaller pitch available that also has lights. Not sure about availability but most clubs would not mind extra income.

Not sure about the availability, but what about African Brothers Football Academy. http://www.abfa.co.za/ close to garden center.
Seems that they might also be closing down which is unfortunate, so not sure what date you need it for.

Was about to suggest ABFA, they have good facilities. It's a real shame that the city wants to close them down.

Try asking UCT if you can use their fields by Kopano...

Didn't know you could rent UCT pitches. Would be awesome though, if I could get that. Do you have idea which office I need to go to?
