I've got a rack storing my CCTV DVR, DSTV, apple TV, LCD monitor, RTI distribution unit etc etc in the basement. I don't want a full backup UPS to run these as it will cost too much. What I need is a UPS that will regulate the spike in voltage when power comes back on. I've got surge protectors on the main plugs but know these are not 100% guarantee to supply clean power to my units when power suddenly comes back on.
So would a APC 2000VA or even a Mecer 2000VA UPS suffice for my needs or do I need something else totally?
I just don't want my rack become KFC when the lights come back on....I've read on some forums that when a generator starts up, supply is not clean so it's best to stick a UPS to be safe.
