Hey guys,

So I'm looking for a relatively cheap camera (<R2000) that shoots great videos and stills. I do not want a video camera.

Could anyone advise me on what to buy that's currently on the market?
I should mention that I don't know very much about cameras, so any advice would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

Here is a photo I took with it at the Vaal River. No editing done (except resizing).

a bridge camera ..

a nikon l810 goes for around +-2k and maybe a fuji with a nice zoom

Wow looks like a professional camera. Maybe a little too big and heavy though, but I will definitely go check it out nonetheless.
Thanks.

You won't get anything of quality for < R2000.
Not looking for exceptional quality, so I think under R2000 is more than good enough for me

Nikon s8200. I see Makro sell them with an SD card for R1999. Think I paid closer to R3k for it back in the day.

I bought this cos I wanted a smaller camera and now I use it almost exclusively. Awesome little camera!

It looks like a great deal but I noticed that it's a little old (2011), so would that matter in the camera world?
How significant is the technology jump in 2 years?

Thanks

Which is better, a 2011 BMW 3 series or a 2013 Ford Focus? (Maintenance costs aside :p)
