Please help with a budget gaming pc +-12k

Greetings Everyone,

I am looking for components to built a gaming pc worth about 12k....
Games I'm looking at playing at 1080p if possible is Ark, Guildwars, WoW, Borderlands, Diablo...

I do not think I can fit in a monitor in that price as well as it will sacrifice on GPU options, so am not sure which route to go... I do have a old 24" 2ms monitor I can use for the interim.

So many different processors to choose from, and afraid if I go to "cheap" on the processor to get a better GPU, that it would bottleneck somewhere, the trick I guess is to get the balance right. With limited knowledge on the RYZEN processors I am battling to decide.... hehe

List of components required:
I can make use of the old case, mouse & keyboard if need be...
Power supply
Motherboard
Processor + Cooling (if the stock one is not sufficient?)
SSD for OS and Apps
HDD for Game Installs and Other
Memory
GPU

If anyone can help me decide in a "optimal" balance, I know 12k is probably not enough, but that is all I have...

None of them have an HDD included, although you could probably just use the builds as a starting point and leave out what you don't need etc..

R12k with careful selection and shopping will get you a top-end 1080p system.

GPU is a new RMA unit with warranty left on it, shipping for it will be about R100 unless you live in the area to collect.
The CPU is from Evetech which I loath to mention but it's just a CPU which does not fail so after-sales service should not be needed and the shipping is free, if on checkout they try and bill you for shipping rather just get it from Wootware here.)
All the other components are from Loot & Takealot which will have free shipping and the option to pay with discovery miles should you have those.

The above will play 95% of games at max settings 1080p 60fps and higher and be good for the future.

Not considering the 2nd hand route, would a RX580 be the next best as the 1660ti is a bit to steep, this is what I am struggling with hehe, to opt for a cheaper mb and cpu for a 1660ti?

Checked some reviews and mostly positive on the ryzen 5 3600... which is cool.
 
I'll have a look and see what can be done but I doubt you'll be able to get a 1660ti even if you go for a cheap MB & R5 2600.

Ahh ok, that is ok then thanks ponder, I will go for the RX580 then.... urghh should probably try the 2nd hand card, but I've lost money so many times, so I'm skeptical and way to far from CT. hehe
 
What about those deals from Evetech ...I dunno how they do it, but they manage to get a 1660 and even an RTX 2060 into okay, just a touch over your budget. Disclaimer - I don't think I've ever used them before, so can't comment on their service/quality.
 
You can compromise and save R1145 by going with,
R2949 - AMD Ryzen 5 2600
R1234 - ASRock B450M-HDV

This however will still leave you R800 short for a 1660ti but will cover a normal 1660.

The original build with the GTX 1070 is still the best, it's a new GPU with a years warranty.

Go look at the components listed for the PCs or upgrade kits, they give you single stick & slow RAM with older ryzen cpus. The dual simm 3200MHz kits with newer ryzen cpus costs more. At first sight it looks great but there are compromises hence the price.

Ahh okay yeah, I've been a bit out of the PC building game for a while ...if it sounds too good to be true...

I suppose many people just see a good price without looking further and click add to cart, they probably sell a lot of those deals.

I think that is a lot of their business yes, even the motherboards seem to be A320s as well. A friend almost went that route, until I showed him takealot, wootware and rebeltech. Those three combined actually came in R200 less than the "upgrade" kit he wanted from Evetech and it was faster RAM, a better Mobo as well.
