Bought this today after my line got installed, now I read its a piece of rubbish & I'm starting to agree. Can't connect, tells me something about waiting for activity in the test screen.

Did the following settings:

PPPoE
8
35
LLC

This is damn frustrating :(

UPDATE: Got modem to connect now, but can't connect via PPPoE.
Any advice?

UPDATE: Got it working, must set the thing to "Modem" so that it Bridges and it helps not to use an account that is in use by 2 pc's already ;)

Using Ethernet PPPoE now, running 3 connections over the line, working very well.
I updated the firmware to version 3.40. So I'm very happy with the thing now & would recommend it.

It is actually a piece of junk. If you are looking at p2p, forget the DG632 modem. It crashes all the time and not even the firmware updates completely sort that out.

mine is being hammered with 3 PPPoE connections and its running fine with the new firmware

REPORT:

I noticed that if I have more than 1 connection dailup on the modem you can't ping either address from the internet. so no dyndns or anything works

very irritating coz I got a nice routing setup for local & int traffic

Your Dg632

Hi. I dont know where you read "its a piece of rubbish" I dont think NETGEAR makes any rubbish. We at www.soholink.co.za sell all Netgear products very well and never get any complaints. Our IT technician is out of town on a Network project in the bush, I'll try to get him to help you I am sure he will be able to advise you on the right proceedures to get the best out of your DG632.

I read it on here, just do a search for DG632. Anyways, the modem is working fine and this limitation I picked up is just a bit of a pain in the ass.

I have had a DG632 since last year september and got it installed without too much hassle. It is our major brand at work. As a router you can configure in less than 5min. I've got mine setup on server with pppoe. I have noticed that the speed appears to drop suddenly when doing downloads from my linux server.

Not sure if it's the router or sender, still investigating. Basically, haven't looked much yet.

My question is does anybody here know what sort of settings must be used for clamp mms etc.

I have a question to Mr 3 PPPOE connections. How are you doing this? I believe it is impossible to connect more than 1 session on an ADSL line.

Its definitely possible here, not from the same pc though.

multiple pppoe connections

Just put your modem in bridged mode, network the pc's together, and setup a pppoe connection on each pc. Yes really. Thats how easy it is
