Hi there

I placed my flash into my laptop, opened files, then suddenly it would not let me save.
I tried to re-open the flash, but it wont let me unless i format it, in which case i will lose everything!
I have tried EASEUS data recovery programme, but it brought up random files with no connection to what was on my original.
Please please help! Any recommendations as to good flash drive data recovery programmes and methods to help me recover my thesis!! Please, Thanks

search for a program called GetDataBack for NTFS or the FAT version depending on what your flash was formatted as.

But first try and plug it in a different computer.

Just use Linux :)

If you have a Live CD lying around, just pop it in, boot it up and read the flash drive in Ubuntu like normal

If the suggestions offered, does not work, pm me. I might have an option that has not been mentioned.

My apologies for the double post.

Yep, I just recovered a 1 Gig Flash Disk last night in Ubuntu. :)

Why no mention it here?

My suggestion of how to acquire the software might not be acceptable. I have come to the conclusion that some people get flamed for suggestions like that, while others do not get flamed, depending on who made post. So...

The software in question:http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HDD-Regenerator.shtml

They refer to hdd, but I have used it on flash drives as well.
While repairing,it also recovers the software on the drive.
The software has served me well so far.

Did a 500GB hard drive the other day that Windows flat-out refused to access - the client was over the moon that 6 years of work wasn't lost... gotta love Linux :)
