Hi Guys,

In short :

I can't have Telkom to resolve the issue that I logged online on the 24th of April and TelkomZA is ignoring my MP on this forum. What can I do ? is there another option you guys know about ?

With all the details :

I am currently on a 4 Mbps telkom line with a 6 Mbps Mweb account. Everything was working fine until the end of March. The line became very slow to the extend where speedtest is giving me 1.3 Mbps Download during the night. I was too busy to log a ticket and wanted to test with my Webafrica account to see if the problem was Mweb. I did the test on the 20th of April which showed me that Telkom is the problem. I logged a ticket from the telkom website on the 20th of April but no one is contacting me and the ticket is not updated (fault track portal). What do you guys do when you are stuck like this ?

thank you for helping

I waited 45 minutes today on lunch break and I could not wait any longer as I had to go back to work. I wish they were working on Saturday so I could wait 2 hours if necessary.

SMS the word 'service' and your 10-digit telephone number to 30591 then follow the easy steps to report your problem

You can also contact them via their Facebook page. Surprisingly good service there.

The fault is reported already via the website I can track it.

The number that MickyD supplied stays operational until 23:00 at night. Call them, use the voice prompts to speak to the DSL guys. I called them after 21:00 to report my problem and spoke to an operator, be very patient. I was very happy with the result. Had a technician in my house 2 days later. Remember the web is not always your friend, nothing can replace personal contact (this is my belief and opinion).:D

Hi everybody. We live in a residential estate in Hartbeespoort. Telkom installed a small exchange in the complex last year and we can now have DSL for the first time. The highest offered speed is a 4 Mbps Line, to which I subscribed in July with an Uncapped account from Telkom. Speedtest were consistent from that time until February at 3.6 Mbps Dn and 0.44 Mbps Up, acceptable I suppose. Suddenly in February the Upload speed dropped to 0.2 or below and the Dn stated dropping too. This has affected all the subscribers hooked on this exchange, not just me. Numerous faults have been logged since then and although techies have been out working on the equipment, the speeds have deteriorated and are now varying between 0.5-2 Mbps and 0.1-0.3 at best. Besides the slow speeds we often are not able to connect with a site and mails tend to stick in the Outbox. The most frustrating action by Telkom is the regular sms telling us that the service has been restored, sometimes within an hour of logging the fault. There is no communication from Telkom on this problem, we are just left in the dark to fend for ourselves. Their PR is hopeless. There is no doubt that the whole estate will do away with the DSL service and go back to the other services used before, such as several wifi offerings in the area and of course 3G. Personally we would prefer to go on the Uncapped LTE, which shows speed of up to 40 Mbps on my iPhone inside the house. However Telkom Mobile will not offer me the Uncapped deal because we are so many meters outside what they consider the Coverage area for qualification of their offer. I can see the tower clearly right near us, about 2 km away, without anything blocking the line-of-sight.
Does anyone have any ideas that would help us get back on the Internet again, at a reasonable price and service.
